The General Secretariat of Imam Hussein Holy Shrine has announced that permissions were granted to start building a new dome that will be seven meters higher than the current one.
The official site of the General Activities Department of the holy shrine reported that Mr. Afdhal Shami, member of the board of directors, confirmed that the required permissions to start building a newer, larger and higher dome have been acquired; however the construction will not start unless all the bases and pillars are reinforced with concrete and steel structures.
From their part, engineering staffs confirmed that many civil works are being accomplished to strengthen the foundations of the holy dome.
This is while a number of architecture experts recently stated that the current holy dome of Imam Hussein is miraculously upright.
