The holy shrines in Karbala began to lay the entrances to the shrines of Imam Hussein and his brother Abu al-Fadl al-Abbas, peace be upon them, with sand, in preparation for the Ashura ceremonies, which will start on the tenth of Muharram, the commemoration of the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Hussein, peace be upon him.
Service staffs were mobilized to cover the courtyard with red carpet and the main entrances to the gates of the holy shrines with sand.
The works come in preparation for the sacred ritual of Tatbir and the Tweerej Run, to maintain the smooth flow of pilgrims’ movement, prevent mourners from overcrowding or suffer any injury.
The holy shrines, departments and concerned authorities are making intensive security, service and health preparations to receive the millions of mourners on the Ashura commemoration of Imam Hussein, peace be upon him.
