Holy Samarra to see significant increase in number of visitors in few years, activists predict

Activists and journalists predict a significant increase in the number of visitors to the holy city of Samarra in the coming few years.

They expect that Samarra will receive millions of visitors throughout the year, similar to the cities of Holy Najaf and Karbala. This increase is due to the development taking place in the city and the improved security situation.

In light of these expectations, the Holy Shrine of al-Askariyain and the local government are working to provide essential services to accommodate the increasing number of visitors, both from Iraq and other Arab and foreign countries.

Activists and journalists have noted that Samarra, as a center of religious, intellectual, and cultural destination, creates a culture of peaceful coexistence.

The rapid development in Samarra, including the expansion of the holy shrine and other heritage sites and tourist areas, reflects the efforts to make the city a major destination for visitors.

The activists have called on the central government to increase financial support for the city to enhance projects and essential services for visitors.
