Afghanistan: Taliban Reportedly Threaten 250 Shia Families with Eviction in Kabul

Around 250 Shia families in the Kata-ye-Bolandi area of Dasht-e-Barchi, western Kabul, are reportedly facing threats of eviction amid a land ownership dispute. Local sources say Taliban members have threatened residents with arrest and the demolition of their homes if they refuse to leave.
The dispute concerns approximately 41 jeribs of land claimed by an individual on behalf of Pashtany Bank. Residents reject the claim, saying they have lived in the area for more than 30 years and possess documents supporting their ownership rights. Local sources also report the arrest of neighbourhood representative Asadullah Mirzaei and several community elders, with around 30 other people reportedly detained in connection with the dispute.
Residents oppose the proposed evictions and fear losing their homes. The allegations, detention figures and competing ownership claims have not been independently verified. The Taliban authorities have not issued an official response to the reported accusations.
