BLA Attack on Pakistani Army Positions Raises Security Tensions in Balochistan

Militants from the separatist Balochistan Liberation Army, known as the BLA, have carried out a coordinated attack on Pakistani army convoys and military positions in strategic areas of Balochistan province.

The attackers reportedly used heavy weapons, explosives, and rockets, causing casualties and damage among security forces stationed in the area.

Following the operation, the BLA issued an official statement claiming responsibility for the attack, describing it as part of its campaign against the presence of the central government in the province.

According to Pakistan’s official Associated Press of Pakistan, the Pakistani army deployed reinforcements and attack helicopters after the clashes and launched a wide-scale operation to clear the area and pursue armed elements in the mountains.

Security officials in Islamabad strongly condemned the attack and reaffirmed their determination to suppress separatist groups and preserve national stability.

The confrontation has raised fresh concerns about the worsening security crisis in Balochistan, particularly along routes linked to major regional economic projects.
