Pakistan: Mass protests against statement by Sunni scholar that insulted the Holy Shrine of Imam al-Kadhim, peace be upon him


The followers of the Ahlulbayt, peace be upon them, in several Pakistani cities organized massive protests, after blasphemous statements made by a Sunni cleric in the country, in which he insulted the Holy Shrine of Imam Musa al-Kadhim, peace be upon him.
Pakistani media reported, “The Shia protesters took to the streets to condemn the statements of Abdul Rahman Salafi, in which he insulted the personality and shrine of Imam al-Kadhim, peace be upon him.”
The media added that “such irresponsible statements try to stir up the feelings of Shia Muslims by disrespecting the great symbols of imams of the Ahlulbayt, peace be upon them.”
The sources explained that “Shia protests were widespread in the country, and the representative of the Jafari Shias, Sayyed Hamid al-Moussawi, called on his followers to go out and demonstrate to condemn this abuse.”
Al-Moussawi called on the Prime Minister, Army Commander and Chief Justice of Pakistan to “arrest anyone who insults the honorable Prophet and his family, peace be upon them.”
