Boko Haram terrorists have killed 15 villagers near Maiduguri, the centre of the takfiri group’s six-year insurgency where President Goodluck Jonathan is to hold an election rally.
The killings near the embattled city took place before the president’s visit, security sources and residents said.
A woman from the village who simply gave her name as Kyallu said four of her children were among the dead.
She went on saying that they killed four of her grown-up children when they attacked her village about the time for the morning prayers.
Maiduguri and its vicinities in the unstable northeast have repeatedly come under attack from the extremists who began their deadly insurgency to impose Sharia in the mainly-Muslim north in 2009.
