Amnesty International launches Twitter campaign to demand the release of human rights defenders in Egypt

Amnesty International launched a Twitter campaign to demand the immediate release of activists and human rights defenders, who were arbitrarily arrested in Egypt.

It continued, “We will share the names of these activists throughout the week, and we call on you to take action and demand their immediate release.”
Amnesty called on everyone to re-tweet about the detainees to reach Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, saying: “Let President El-Sisi know that you are in solidarity with them.”
Meanwhile, the Egyptian Commission for Rights and Freedoms said, in a brief statement: “The security forces have come again to stop citizens, search them unlawfully, and force them to open their phones, which is a clear and explicit violation of the constitution, law, international treaties and conventions.”
