Lebanon: Israeli War Death Toll Rises to 4,350, with More Than 12,000 Injured
The death toll from the Israeli war on Lebanon since March 2 has risen to 4,350, with 12,310 people injured, amid continued Israeli airstrikes, shelling, and explosions in several areas of southern Lebanon.
Lebanon’s Ministry of Public Health Emergency Operations Center announced that the cumulative toll from March 2 through August 25 had reached 4,350 deaths and 12,310 injuries.
On the ground, Israeli warplanes carried out strikes on Tuesday evening targeting the outskirts of the town of Al-Mansouri in southern Lebanon, following earlier strikes on Al-Mansouri, Tayr Harfa, and the Doha Kafr Rumman road.
The towns of Ainata and Beit Lif also came under artillery fire, while intermittent shelling since the morning caused fires to break out on the outskirts of Deir Mimas.
Lebanon’s National News Agency reported that Israeli forces also carried out demolition operations in several southern towns, including Srebin, Al-Mansouri, Majdal Zoun, and Markaba.
The developments come amid continuing military tensions since the outbreak of the war on March 2, followed by the Israeli forces’ occupation of several towns in southern Lebanon and continued airstrikes on areas in the south and the Bekaa Valley.
Despite several ceasefire arrangements and extensions announced in recent months, Israeli attacks continued before their frequency declined following the announcement of a new ceasefire on June 20. Southern Lebanon, however, continues to witness airstrikes, shelling, and sporadic military operations.
