Mexico has received almost 11,000 deported migrants from the United States since President Donald Trump took office on January 20, according to Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum. The figure, announced on February 7, includes approximately 2,500 non-Mexican nationals.
Earlier this week, President Sheinbaum announced an agreement with the Trump administration to pause proposed tariffs on Mexican goods. In return, thousands of National Guard police were deployed to Mexico’s northern border to help curb the flow of migrants bound for the United States.
In addition to processing deported individuals, Mexico has repatriated migrants to Honduras using both flights and ground transportation. President Sheinbaum emphasized that these repatriations are voluntary, stating that the government will accompany the individuals to ensure they return safely to their home countries.
