India, Italy pledge to boost anti-terror cooperation
India and Italy have agreed to enhance their collaboration in combating terrorism, including addressing the misuse of technology for terrorist activities, the Indian news wesbite “Firstpost” said.
At the India-Italy Joint Working Group meeting on Counter-Terrorism and Organised Crime held in Rome on January 16-17, both sides discussed domestic, regional, and global terror threats and explored areas for increased cooperation.
The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) stated that the discussions emphasized the effective prosecution of terrorists and strengthening collaboration in multilateral platforms such as the UN, GCTF, and FATF.
The meeting, co-chaired by KD Dewal from India and Alessandro Azzoni from Italy, also reviewed bilateral agreements and explored capacity-building measures between law enforcement agencies.
