The first-ever Musandam International Diving Festival is underway in Oman’s northernmost governorate, bringing together diving professionals, enthusiasts, and various institutions, Anadolu Agency reported. The four-day event aims to promote sustainable tourism and marine conservation in the region.

The festival features a variety of marine sports and competitions, including an underwater photography contest, a kayak race, and a freediving competition. Other activities include a coral reef planting campaign and a seabed cleanup campaign. Organizers stated that the festival’s goal is to position Musandam as a premier global diving destination while also highlighting its unique marine biodiversity.
