Iranian security forces killed six militants in a southeastern clash on Saturday, a day after rebels killed five police officers in the region, Reuters reported. According to Iranian state media IRNA, evidence suggested the group had links to Israel, possibly receiving training from the Mossad, though Israel has not responded to the claim.

Two additional militants were arrested, and all but one were foreign nationals, though their countries of origin were not disclosed. Southeastern Iran has experienced sporadic clashes between security forces and armed groups, including Sunni militants and separatists, some of whom Tehran says have ties to foreign powers and engage in cross-border smuggling and insurgency.
