NASA honors Iraqi student for discovering security flaws in its website

Iraqi student Muntadher Mohammed Ahmed, from Tarmiyah district north of Baghdad, received a certificate of appreciation from NASA after discovering two security vulnerabilities on the agency’s website.

Muntadher, a top-performing student, identified a critical SQL Injection flaw that could allow hackers to inject malicious code and potentially leak sensitive data from NASA’s systems. He also reported a second, lower-risk vulnerability.

In recognition of his efforts, NASA issued an official certificate, praising the student’s contribution to cybersecurity. His achievement has been widely celebrated in Iraq’s educational and tech communities as a model of youth talent in modern technology fields.
