Surge in Terrorist Attacks in Pakistan: Civilian Casualties Rise by 175%

The Pakistan Institute for Conflict and Security Studies (PICSS) has reported a significant increase in terrorist attacks across the country during February, with civilian casualties soaring by 175%.
The report, released on March 2 and published by Khaama Press, indicates that Pakistan experienced 79 terrorist incidents last month, resulting in the deaths of 55 civilians and 47 security personnel.
Balochistan emerged as the most dangerous province, recording 32 attacks that claimed the lives of 35 civilians, 10 security forces, and 11 militants. In response, security forces reportedly killed 11 militants in the region. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa followed with 21 attacks, leading to the deaths of 22 security personnel and 8 civilians, with the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) being primarily responsible.
In other areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, an additional 23 attacks resulted in 14 security force fatalities and 12 civilian deaths. Security operations in these regions led to the killing of 98 militants and the arrest of 50 suspects.
