Shahi Idgah board presents argument to oppose ‘removal’ of mosque in Allahabad HC
The Shahi Idgah managing committee argued in the Allahabad High Court that the suit seeking “removal” of the mosque near the Krishna Janmabhoomi temple in Mathura is barred by the law of limitation, which sets a specific time period for seeking legal remedy.
According to Muslim Mirror, the Muslim side of the case stated that a compromise was reached in 1968 and confirmed in 1974, making the current suit filed in 2020 time-barred.
The Hindutva-motivated legal suit also seeks possession after the mosque’s removal and restoration of the temple, the website added.
It should be mentioned that a growing trend of aggression against Muslims and their places of worship has been developing under the Nationalist Modi Government over the past years.
