Iraq to open three new international airports
Iraq will open three new international airports in the next year in the in the country’s southern and northern regions, announced the Iraqi Ministry of Transport today.
The activities in the projects of Karbala, Nasiriyah and Mosul international airports continues with great momentum, said Maitham Al-Safi, the Ministry Media Office Director, in a statement.
He further noted that 6 million pilgrims are expected to visit Karbala International Airport every year and this airport will become the largest and busiest airport in the country.
Al-Safi also emphasized that these three airports will be opened in the next year and will facilitate tourism from different countries and pilgrimage for lovers and Shiites of the Ahlul-Bayt, peace be upon them.
