The Office of Grand Ayatollah Shirazi in Mazar-i-Sharif provides 400 Shia families with winter fuel

With the sharp drop in temperatures, the Office of the Supreme Religious Authority, His Eminence, Grand Ayatollah Sayywd Sadiq al-Husseini al-Shirazi, announced today, Tuesday, the distribution of fuel to poor families in the city of Mazar-i-Sharif.

The office of the religious authority stated in a statement received by Shia Waves News Agency, that it “carried out, in cooperation with the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them) Charity Association in Kuwait and a number of philanthropists, a relief campaign for Shia families in the Afghan city of Mazar Sharif.”

It added, “The campaign included the distribution of winter fuel (coal) to 400 families of orphans and poor people in the city.”

“The initiative is presented to support the families in light of the difficult living conditions and low temperatures,” the statement said.

The statement affirmed that “the Shirazi Religious Authority pays great attention to the poor and needy families, and recommends taking more care of them in order to alleviate their sufferings during the current situations.”
