12 killed in rocket attack on football pitch in Golan Heights

12 people have been killed and 19 others wounded in a rocket attack on a football pitch in the town of the Majdal Shams in the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights, Al Jazeera reported citing Israeli authorities said.

Israel’s military officials said children were among those killed and accused the Lebanese group Hezbollah of carrying out the attack on Saturday, but the group denied any involvement.

Israeli warplanes carried out attacks against Hezbollah in Lebanon over Saturday night, Israel’s military said on Sunday, in apparent retaliation for the rocket attack on the Golan Heights.
