Non-Violence Organization Calls on Arab League to Pardon Political Prisoners, Support Youth, and Advance Social Reforms

Ahead of the 166th regular session of the Council of the League of Arab States, held in Tunisia, the Global Organization for the Rejection of Violence, known as “Free Muslim,” issued a humanitarian appeal addressed to Arab leaders and representatives participating in the summit.
The organization called for what it described as historic, courageous, and responsible decisions aimed at reducing the suffering of Arab populations, promoting social justice, and addressing the legitimate demands of citizens across the region.
In its message, the organization urged Arab governments to adopt a general recommendation calling for a comprehensive pardon for prisoners of conscience and individuals detained over political criticism or the expression of their views. It warned that imprisoning people because of their opinions represents a serious challenge to human rights and can undermine long-term stability.
The group also highlighted the growing problem of youth unemployment in Arab countries, calling for the development of comprehensive strategies to create jobs, expand opportunities, and reduce irregular migration among young people.
The Global Organization for the Rejection of Violence praised recent measures by the Iraqi government to allocate land to low-income citizens, describing such initiatives as steps toward improving social welfare. It also called for the repeal of laws that restrict freedom of expression, greater engagement with civil society through constructive dialogue, and fairer distribution of wealth across Arab societies.
