South Korea: Shia Community in Seoul Marks Birth Anniversary of Holy Prophet, Imam al-Sadiq

The South Korean capital, Seoul, hosted a religious gathering to commemorate the birth anniversary of the Holy Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him and his family, and his descendant Imam Ja’far al-Sadiq, peace be upon him, with the participation of religious and social figures, community members, and Muslims living in the country.

The event was held at the Seoul Hussainiya, where attendees took part in a program featuring lectures and speeches highlighting aspects of the lives, teachings, and historical contributions of the Holy Prophet and Imam al-Sadiq.

The gathering also witnessed the raising of the Hussaini flag brought from the holy city of Karbala, with participants seeking blessings from it in a ceremony reflecting their spiritual connection to Imam Hussein, peace be upon him, and the religious significance of Karbala among followers of Ahl al-Bayt, peace be upon them.

Speakers at the event discussed the Prophet’s role in establishing Islamic values and promoting principles of morality, mercy, and humanity, while also highlighting Imam Ja’far al-Sadiq’s scholarly legacy and his contribution to Islamic sciences and knowledge.

The celebration was part of ongoing religious activities organized by followers of Ahl al-Bayt in South Korea to commemorate Islamic occasions and introduce the teachings and heritage of the Holy Prophet and his family to wider communities.
