On blessed Eid al-Fitr, Afghan school girls reiterate their calls for reopening education institutions

A large number of girls deprived of education in Afghanistan have reiterated their demsnds to the de facto government, Taliban, to reopen educational institutions on the occasion of the blessed Eid al-Fitr.

Shia Waves Agency quoted the Indian news agency (Tolo News) as reporting, “Afghan girls have emphasized that the absence of education not only diminishes the joy of Eid al-Fitr for them but also exacerbates the challenges they face”.

They strongly expressed their frustration with this situation and called for the reopening of educational opportunities.

For over a year and a half, thousands of girls have been waiting for the decision of the extremist group to allow the reopening of schools and universities for them,” indicating that “this prolonged situation has left them in a state of neglect, unsure whether to continue or completely give up hope.”

Other girls said: “As a gift for Eid al-Fitr, we appeal to the Taliban to reopen schools and free us from this unbearable hell of being excluded from education.”
