USA: Shia Muslims in Albuquerque celebrate opening of Fatima al-Zahra Cultural Center
The Shia Muslim community in Albuquerque, USA, celebrated the opening of the Fatima al-Zahra Cultural Center on the occasion of the blessed birthday of the Honorable Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him and his family, and his grandson Imam Ja’far al-Sadiq, peace be upon him.
According to Shia Waves Agency, “Shia Muslims in Albuquerque, New Mexico, USA, celebrated the opening of this important center for holding religious and cultural events and commemorating the rituals of Imam Hussein, peace be upon him.”
The report added that “Shias in the city considered the opening of this center as the beginning of a new chapter in the history of the American Shia community.”
The report also said that “the Shia community is keen to hold its religious programs on various occasions and places, but the opening of such a center will provide children with more educational programs that educate them on the cultural and Islamic principles.”
The report quoted the center’s organizers as emphasizing the “importance of establishing Shia Islamic centers and unifying the efforts of believing Shias in commemorating the events of Ahl al-Bayt, peace be upon them, educating their children and youth while preserving their religious heritage, as well as promoting good citizenship and peaceful coexistence with others.”
They also stressed the “need to raise young people with a solid Islamic education based on the principles of peace and love that represent the life of the Prophet of Mercy, peace be upon him and his family, and the infallible Imams, peace be upon them, and their divine teachings.”
