Nonviolence Organization denounces silencing and restricting freedom of speech in Tunisia
The International Nonviolence Organization (Free Muslim) denounced violations committed by the Tunisian authorities aimed at silencing and restricting freedom of speech, guaranteed by local and international laws.
In a statement received by Shia Waves Agency the Organization said that, “Recurrent reports recently monitored indicate that the Tunisian authorities have escalated dictatorial and arbitrary actions against opponents of President Qais Saied’s measures, and had many of his critics imprisoned.”
The organization stressed “the need to release all prisoners of conscience in the country, and to hold early elections to end dictatorship and restore democracy.”
The Free Muslim Organization also warned the Tunisian authorities of, “the consequences of returning to the policy of tyranny and repression as was the case with the former Tunisian President, Bin Ali.”
