The Martyrs Foundation revealed that 18 mass graves were found this year in several Iraqi governorates.

Head of the Mass Graves Department at the Martyrs Foundation Dia Karim said in a press statement that “18 mass graves have been found in several governorates,” explaining that “the graves that were found belong to the victims of al-Qaeda and ISIS, along with others victims of the Baath crimes.”

He added, “As a result of the increasing number of missing persons, search campaigns are still continuing to uncover the sites of new mass graves, as new mass graves were found in Najaf, Dhi Qar, Diyala and Fallujah.”
