Afghan Defense announces the killing of dozens of Taliban terrorists in the past 24 hours


The Afghan Ministry of Defense announced that dozens of Taliban fighters were killed in military operations in several provinces during the past 24 hours.
The ministry said in a statement that the security forces, with the support of the air force, targeted a gathering of Taliban terrorists in Zabul, south of the country, killing 60 people from the movement and wounding 33 others.
The Ministry of Defense also indicated in a separate statement that it was able to kill 13 terrorists in attacks targeting the movement in Herat province, western Afghanistan, as well as killing 4 others during operations in Badghis province.
Military operations also targeted hideouts of “Taliban” fighters in Uruzgan province in the center of the country, killing 16 others.
Earlier today, a local security source revealed to Tolo News that 8 members of the Afghan security forces were killed in an attack by the Taliban in the northern province of Baghlan.
The security source explained that two police chiefs and 6 soldiers were killed in the attack, noting that the area where the attack took place faces a threat of falling into the hands of “Taliban” militants in the absence of security reinforcements.
During the past twenty-four hours, at least 10 Afghan provinces witnessed clashes between security forces and the Taliban movement.
