The Ministry of Migration and Displacement stressed that the migrants who do not wish to return need an international and diplomatic effort to adjust their legal status in line with humanitarian standards for human rights.
The official spokesman for the Ministry of Migration and Displacement, Ali Jahakir, said in a statement to the official agency, which was followed by Shia Waves Agency, that “the Ministry of Migration is working in partnership with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to return the Iraqis stranded at the Belarusian border through the Diwani Order 73,” noting that “through the Diwani order, return flights have started.”
He explained, “There is a committee that arrived in Poland, heading to the border with Belarus, to determine the number of migrants and their needs.”
He added, “The migrants who do not wish to return need an international and diplomatic effort to adjust their legal status in line with humanitarian standards for human rights, and we aspire to preserve their lives,” stressing the need for “migrants to be characterized by the standards that countries deal with as asylum seekers.”
He pointed out that “the number of stranded people is conflicting” because it was not issued by an official authority.
