Grand Ayatollah Shirazi: Imam Hussein’s Uprising Remained Eternal Despite Attempts by Rulers to Erase It

The supreme religious authority, Grand Ayatollah Sayyid Sadiq al-Husseini al-Shirazi, affirmed that the uprising of Imam Hussein, peace be upon him, has remained eternal throughout history, despite continuous attempts by rulers who governed in the name of Islam to erase his name and eliminate his cause.
His Eminence stressed that what endured throughout history was the truth of Ashura, while the states and authorities of the oppressors disappeared.
Grand Ayatollah Shirazi explained that from the tragedy of Ashura in 61 AH until today, history has witnessed a long struggle and repeated efforts targeting Imam Hussein, peace be upon him, and his blessed uprising. However, those attempts failed to extinguish the light of the Husseini cause or remove its presence from the conscience of the Ummah.
He noted that the Umayyads, the Marwanids, the Abbasids, and all those who stood against the sacred Husseini uprising have vanished, while Imam Hussein, peace be upon him, and his message remain alive in the conscience of humanity.
His Eminence emphasized that the divine will made the Master of Martyrs, peace be upon him, a symbol of eternity and survival, not of forgetfulness and disappearance.
He added that whatever is for Almighty Allah will never lose its light or be forgotten. For this reason, the name of Imam Hussein, peace be upon him, his uprising, and his sacred rituals have remained present across the centuries and will continue to remain forever, by the will of Allah, because his cause carries the values of truth, justice, reform, and resistance to oppression.
