A religious conference held in Multan, Pakistan, has highlighted the importance of unity among Islamic schools of thought and promoting the values of compassion, tolerance and peaceful coexistence.

Titled “Protecting the Belief in the Finality of Prophethood and Mercy to the Worlds,” the event was organised by the Jamiat Ulema Pakistan in South Punjab in cooperation with the region’s National Unity Council.

The conference brought together religious scholars representing different Islamic schools of thought, alongside religious and political leaders, social figures and members of the public. Discussions focused on the belief in the finality of Prophet Muhammad’s prophethood, his life and teachings, and the role of Islamic principles in strengthening solidarity and mutual respect within society.

Speakers emphasised the importance of religious education, particularly among younger generations, encouraging greater engagement with the Holy Quran and the Prophet’s biography. They said the Prophet’s life offers guidance not only through historical events but also through teachings that promote justice, mercy, tolerance, cooperation and service to others.

Participants also called for stronger relations among followers of different Islamic schools of thought, urging communities to focus on shared religious and humanitarian values. They stressed the importance of constructive dialogue and scholarly approaches to addressing differences while preserving mutual respect and social harmony.
