The National Museum of Korea has opened a new wing dedicated to Islamic art, a move that reflects growing public interest in Islamic civilization and its cultural heritage, according to IQNA news agency. The gallery, titled “Islamic Art: A Magnificent Journey,” was developed in collaboration with the Museum of Islamic Art in Doha, Qatar.

Museum officials said the initiative aims to introduce visitors to the diversity of Islamic artistic traditions and to showcase centuries of craftsmanship spanning regions from the West to Central and South Asia. The exhibition presents carefully selected works noted for their geometric detail, decorative techniques and varied materials.

Leaders at the Seoul museum view the opening as an important step in strengthening cultural exchange between South Korea and the Islamic world, offering local audiences deeper insight into Muslim artistic heritage. The partnership builds on the reputations of both institutions, known for their extensive collections and research roles.
