New Kaaba Exhibition Opens in Mecca for 2025 Hajj Pilgrims

A new exhibition dedicated to the history of the Kaaba has been launched in Mecca to coincide with the 2025 Hajj season, Iqna reported. The “First House” exhibition, inaugurated by the General Authority for the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque, is located in the Third Saudi Expansion area of the Grand Mosque, opposite Gate 100 (King Abdullah Gate). It is open daily from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. throughout the Hajj period.

The exhibition offers pilgrims an immersive experience tracing the Kaaba’s evolution from the time of Prophet Ibrahim (Abraham), peace be upon him, to the present day. Using modern technology, including digital displays, motion graphics, and interactive touchscreens, visitors can explore the architectural changes of the Kaaba, its maintenance methods, and the production of the Kiswa—the ornate cloth covering the Kaaba.

This initiative aims to enhance the spiritual and educational experience of millions of Muslims visiting Mecca for the 1446H Hajj season, providing deeper insight into the sacred site’s historical and religious significance.
