Nearly 80 Incidents Target over 60 UK Mosques in one year

The British Muslim Trust has registered 78 attacks and incidents targeting 64 mosques and buildings located within their grounds in the UK and the Channel Islands, over the period from July 2025 to July 2026, according to a report published on October 8, 2026.

The document reports a rise in the most serious incidents, including arson, death threats, armed violence, and foiled mass attack plots. Nearly one-fifth of the establishments studied experienced multiple attacks during the period under review.

The British Muslim Trust believes that the increase in these acts necessitates enhanced security at Muslim places of worship. The organization also calls on authorities to address the root causes of anti-Muslim hatred in order to reduce the threats facing Muslim communities.
