First Iraqi group arrives in Sayyeda Zainab Holy Shrine following fall of ruling regime
The first group of Iraqi pilgrims arrived at the Sayyida Zainab shrine near Damascus on Sunday, marking the resumption of visits following recent political changes in Syria.
Informed news sources confirmed that the group of 12 pilgrims traveled from Najaf International Airport to Damascus and proceeded to the shrine for performing religious rituals.
Sheikh Ahmad Al-Ameen welcomed the visitors, emphasizing the importance of such pilgrimages in strengthening spiritual and cultural ties among Shia communities worldwide.
Footage shared on social media showed prayers and ceremonies at the shrine, with many praising the coordination between Iraqi and Syrian authorities that facilitated the visit.
