UK criticized for illegal detention of hundreds of refugee children

The British Home Office has kept more than a hundred unaccompanied asylum-seeking children in hotels in recent weeks.

The UK Supreme Court has declared the action illegal, while Human rights organizations have condemned such long-term detention in hotels.

According to these institutions, keeping asylum seekers in hotels has caused nearly two hundred children to disappear so far.

The UK High Court found both the Home Office and Kent County Council guilty of “failure to care for children”.
