Iraq: Media and Communications Authority issues temporary licenses for journalists to cover Holy Arbaeen
The director of the Iraqi Media and Communications Authority of the Middle Euphrates sector, Engineer Mithaq Talib, confirmed that the authority is working on issuing temporary licenses for journalists arriving through Iraqi borders.
Talib noted that the Authority’s teams are working around the clock at all airports and entry points to facilitate the process of obtaining these licenses.
The Iraqi official explained that an agreement has been made with all relevant security agencies regarding the procedures for issuing the temporary licenses, which include filling out a special form after the necessary checks at the airport or entry point.
He further mentioned that these licenses are granted free of charge for a period of thirty days, allowing journalists to move freely within Iraq’s borders and conduct media coverage and filming without restrictions.
The director also noted that journalists who obtain the temporary license can contact the Joint Operations Center if they face any difficulties or obstacles during their media coverage, to ensure their tasks are facilitated.
Talib reiterated the Authority’s commitment to supporting journalists and facilitating their work to ensure the best possible coverage of the blessed Arbaeen Pilgrimage and to present this significant event to the world in the best way possible.
