Women with low income are most affected by global unemployment, UN report finds

A recent United Nations report, as reported by CGTN, revealed a mixed picture regarding global employment.

On the bright side, global unemployment is decreasing, with a projection of 4.9% for this year, down from 5% in 2023.

However, the report also highlighted a persistent lack of job opportunities, particularly affecting low-income women.

It noted that access to employment remains unequal worldwide, with only 46% of working-age women employed in 2024 compared to 70% of men.
