Punjab Chief Minister names Martyrs of Karbala defenders of Islam

The Pakistani newspaper “Express Tribune” quoted Sardar Usman Buzdar, the Prime Minister of Punjab province, who has emphasized that Muharram is a reminder of the glorious sacrifice of Imam Hussain (peace be upon him) in the path of uplifting Islam.

“The tragedy of Karbala is a lesson that evil forces must be defeated and Islam will remain eternal”, the newspaper article quotes Buzdar’s special message on the occasion of the Ashura anniversary, adding that “Imam Hussain, peace be upon him, stood up for the truth and resisted evil, and never bowed down. His actions and stances have taught us to raise the voice of truth and defend human values.”

The head of the Punjab government continued: “The great sacrifices of the martyrs of Karbala have revived universal principles of Islam, including patience, tolerance and sacrifice to last until the Day of Resurrection. Also, the battle of Karbala taught Muslims Jihad against oppression and evil.”

At the end of his message, Sardar Buzdar emphasized that the path of the martyrs of Karbala and their bravery and sacrifices will be a source of encouragement and enthusiasm for the oppressed people until the end of time.
