According to Al-Kafeel Channel, the center’s director, Laith Lutfi, said the restored Quran manuscript is considered one of the rarest manuscripts in the historical collection of the Al-Kadhimiya Holy Shrine.
The restoration process went through several specialized stages, including photographic and textual documentation of the manuscript, separation of the pages according to a numerical sequence, biological and chemical testing, and the development of suitable preservation methods.
Lutfi explained that the specialized team carried out precise technical procedures, including mechanical cleaning, replacement of missing and damaged parts, stitching, binding, and other restoration methods that help preserve the manuscript’s cultural and scholarly value.
The director of Al-Fadl Center emphasized that restoration, conservation, and repair work helps extend the lifespan of rare manuscripts and ensures the preservation of their scientific and historical value for future generations.
He added that the center continues its efforts to restore rare documents and handwritten Quran manuscripts as part of its mission to preserve Islamic heritage and pass it on to future generations.
