Copy of Noble Quran written on palm fronds displayed in UAE

The Noble Quran Complex in the UAE city of Sharjah is currently displaying a rare copy of the Quran written in full on palm fronds. 

The Holy Book contains 70 pages, each page includes 8 fronds, and each palm frond contains three lines, for a total of 48 lines per page. The length of each page is 53 cm and its width is 42 cm.

Sherzad Abdul Rahman Taher, Secretary-General of the Quran Complex, said that the complex is proud of containing the rarest Qurans and rare archaeological copies from different eras and countries, noting that this rare copy was written in Morocco and the calligrapher treated, cleaned and cut the palm fronds into equal pieces, then sewed the pieces and joined them together with the two leather covers.

Visitors to the complex can view this rare and distinctive copy in the Museum of the History of Writing the Noble Quran, which is one of the 8 museums in the Noble Quran Complex in Sharjah.
