Imam Shirazi World Foundation concerned over current unrest in Iran

The Washington-based Imam Shirazi World Foundation expresses its deep concern over the current unrest in Iran, warning that the situation may slip into unrestrained violence between the authorities and the protesters.

 The Foundation has seen human rights testimonies indicating great risks that may befall the Iranian regime if it does not take advantage of the calls for prudence, wisdom and humane dealing with the current wave of protests, stressing the importance of reliance on dialogue and openness to the legitimate demands of the people, especially the youth group, and dealing with them very kindly.

The Foundation calls for the need to avoid violence, warning against compromising civil peace and social and security stability, stressing the dangers of this to all Iranian society.
