Ethiopia has welcomed over 100 competitors from 60 countries for the International Quran and Azan Competition, which kicked off on Wednesday, ENA reported. This prestigious five-day event marks the second round of the Ethiopian International Quran and Azan Competition Award, organized by the Zayd Ibn Thabit Qur’an Association and the Supreme Council of Ethiopian Islamic Affairs.

Participants will not only compete but also explore Ethiopia’s rich cultural heritage, as the competition coincides with a surge in tourism, with a 40% increase in visitors over the past five years. The event underscores Ethiopia’s growing capacity to host international gatherings, supported by new tourist infrastructure and renovations.

Dr. Nuredin Qasim, President of the Zayd Ibn Thabit Qur’an Association, announced that Ethiopia will be represented by two male and one female contestant. The competition is expected to draw significant attention and foster cultural exchange among participants and audiences from around the globe.
