Statement of Conviction
Once again, the Iranian security and intelligence authorities, stand against international human rights standards.
On Sunday, July 24th, 2022 the eldest son of the Supreme Religious Authority, Grand Ayatollah Sayyed Sadiq Shirazi, was arrested in an international airport in Tehran. Ayatollah Sayed Hussain Shirazi was unlawfully prevented from boarding a flight to Kuwait.
Meanwhile, Iranian authorities in the holy city of Qom ordered the deliberate electricity power cut from the residence of the Grand Ayatollah Sayyed Sadiq Shirazi while addressing a group of scholars and preachers at an annual congregation on the occasion of the holy month of Muharram.
The Grand Ayatollah addressed the congregation by discussing the importance of upholding the rituals of Imam Hussain (peace be upon him), and instructed them in defending these rituals. This deliberate power cut is disrespectful behaviour towards the Grand Ayatollah Shirazi.
Such practice from the Iranian regime or its associates, indicates that they have total disrespect and disregard towards the sacred Husseini rituals and the revival of the message of the Ahlulbayt (peace be upon them), to the extent that such violations are carried out deliberately.
The world should be aware of violations practised by the Iranian regime and its intelligence forces against innocent civilians.
In addition to preventing the son of Grand Ayatollah Sayyed Sadiq Hussaini Shirazi from traveling abroad, they also placed him under strict conditions which are against international laws of human rights.
Moreover, in order to further increase the tension, the Iranian authorities sent a message through Ayatollah Sayyed Hussein al-Shirazi ordering his father the Grand Ayatollah Sayyed Sadiq al-Shirazi to stop speaking about (defending Husseini’s holy rituals) and when their order was refused, their mercenaries dared to cut off the electricity.
Therefore, the Imam Hussein Media Group, condemns this un-professional, shameless and illegal act of the Iranian government, which is a bare violation of individual freedom and the international rights, where such a behaviour shows the shamelessness of the ruling system, and if such action is disapproved by the authorities, we demand an immediate apology from all of those who carried out and took part in this heinous act violating the basic human rights of the Grand Ayatollah Shirazi and his household, and give assurance that these kind of acts are not repeated against the honourable Shirazi family, who have spent their whole lives in serving the path of the Ahlulbayt (peace be upon them) and defending the Shias and their rights.
As we emphasize once again, all legitimate and legal human rights that every human should benefit from must be equally provided for the household of Grand Ayatollah Shirazi by the ruling government, and any audacity, disrespect and future violation of this, means that the Iranian government is shifting towards a rule of dictatorship, which sooner or later will fall.
In addition, the issue performing the sacred rituals of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him) and defending them is on God’s providence, even though the lowly and humiliating efforts of the enemies work against it. This is a promise that the Messenger of God, peace and blessings of God be upon him, made, which declares that these rituals should remain prominent and valuable and the revolution of his noble son Imam Hussein (peace be upon him) should remain firm and stable in spite of all disbelief and misguidance.
