10 killed, 12 injured in two days as rain batters Pakistan’s northwest

Ten people were killed, mostly children, while 12 were injured in rain-related incidents in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in the past two days, Dawn newspaper reported on Sunday.

Since they began on Friday, downpours in different districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province caused rooms to collapse, crushing the people inside, the source added.

According to reports received till Saturday night, 27 houses were damaged in rain and hailstorm-related incidents in KP.

Pakistan has this year experienced a delay in winter rains, which started in February instead of November. Monsoon and winter rains cause damage in Pakistan every year.
