Shias revive the “International Day of the Injustice against Karbala” to reveal the Wahhabi crimes against it
The Shias of the Ahlulbayt, peace be upon them, in Iraq and the world will commemorate, on Tuesday, the International Day of the Injustice against Karbala, which was launched by the Supreme Religious Authority, Grand Ayatollah Sayyed Sadiq al-Husseini al-Shirazi, as a reminder of the bloody massacre committed by the Wahhabis and the Saudi army against the people of the holy city 229 years ago.
The recent history recounts many painful facts that occurred against the Shias by the Wahhabis, including this incident in which the Wahhabis took advantage of the people of Karbala going to Najaf to commemorate Eid al-Ghadir in 1802, by attacking the city and killing those remaining in it.
The people of Karbala called on the advent of this painful memory, to remind the world of it, and to show the scale of the crime that took place against the people of the city and its sanctities, which claimed the lives of more than 5,000 and 10,000 others wounded.
A number of citizens said in separate conversations to Shia News Agency: “The extent of the hostility of Wahhabism to the Shias and their Imams is revealed by this painful event that shook the world at the time.”
They added that “the call of the Shirazi Religious Authority to declare the day of the crime an international day for the injustices against Karbala should receive the attention of all Muslims without exception, and international organizations should open this file and reveal the crimes of Wahhabism against the Shias.”
Researchers and orientalists report that “the Wahhabis had always dreamed of plundering this city and were confident of their success, and when the fateful day came, 12 thousand Wahhabis suddenly attacked the shrine of Imam Hussein, peace be upon him, and seized the enormous treasures.”
One of the Russian researchers says: “In this incident, the elderly, children, and women all perished by the swords of these barbarians, and their cruelty was insatiable and did not stop killing until blood flowed into rivers, and as a result of this bloody catastrophe more than 5,000 people perished, and the Wahhabis transferred what they looted on more than 4 thousand camels.”
