Police in the US state of Michigan are investigating a series of threatening messages directed at a mosque in Madison Heights, prompting concern among local Muslim community leaders.

The incident involved the American Islamic Community Center, located on Dequindre Road, where mosque leadership reportedly received multiple threatening voicemail messages over the weekend.

According to local reports, the messages included threats of violence and language perceived as hostile toward the Muslim community. Authorities have not publicly identified a suspect and are continuing efforts to determine who made the calls and whether any measures were used to conceal the caller’s identity.

In response, Madison Heights police increased patrols around the mosque as a precaution while the investigation remains underway.

Community representatives expressed concern over the impact of the threats on local residents and worshippers. Osama Siblani, publisher of The Arab American News, said some members of the community had become fearful and unsettled by the incident, adding that such events can affect public confidence and feelings of safety.

Law enforcement officials have not announced any arrests and have not released additional details regarding the investigation.
