Daily Session of Grand Ayatollah Shirazi with scholars, believers in the holy city of Qom
The daily session of His Eminence, Grand Ayatollah Sayyed Sadiq al-Husseini al-Shirazi, was held on Sunday, the 3rd of Dhul-Hijjah 1443 AH (July 3, 2022).
At the beginning of the session, one of the attendees asked: What is the ruling on making up previous deeds and worship for a new convert?
His Eminence replied:
“It is concluded from legal evidence, that just as a disbeliever who converted to Islam is not required to perform his previous deeds, there is no need for a convert to make up for previous prayers, fasting, pilgrimage and ghusl.”
After that, the attendees asked many other questions on other topics such as the ruling on selling prohibited goods to disbelievers, and the ruling on saying “Amen” in prayer.
