Israeli Court recognizes right of Jews to perform ‘Silent Prayer’ at al-Aqsa

An Israeli court has recognized the limited right of Jews to perform prayers in the courtyards of Al-Aqsa Mosque in a decision that is the first of its kind.
The Jerusalem District Court decided that the presence of Jewish worshipers on the Temple Mount does not constitute a criminal act as long as their prayers remain silent.
The court ordered the police to cancel the deportation warrant issued against Rabbi Aryeh Lippo to prevent him from visiting the Temple Mount because of his silent prayers there.
The ruling states that this rabbi’s daily visits to the Temple Mount indicate that he “considers it as a very important and principled matter.”
