Iraqi security forces arrested a significant ISIS member in the Sulaimani province of Kurdistan Region on Tuesday after a ten-month manhunt.
The suspect was involved in attacking security forces and civilians in several Iraqi provinces, according to the Security Media Cell.
Cell’s statement adds: The ISIS member was active in areas north of the capital Baghdad, as well as Kirkuk and Salahaddin.
Last December, Major General Tahsin al-Khafaji, spokesperson for the Joint Operations Command, announced that over 200 ISIS fighters had been killed in Iraq in 2022.
