Report highlights needs and conditions of Shia Muslims in Niger

The Ahl Al-Bayt – peace be upon them – Association issued a report on the most prominent needs and conditions of Shia Muslims in the state of Niger.
“Given that Niger is a country that enjoys peaceful coexistence between markedly different religions and sects, and that the government does not allow any sect to attack another sect for the sake of sectarian difference, this situation is therefore a valuable opportunity for Shiites to communicate their doctrine and spread the knowledge of the Ahl Al-Bayt freely throughout the country”, the association said in the report.
The report added: “This is a situation that the Wahhabis have exploited to spread their ideas in the country and they have succeeded to a large extent, as they have unimaginable possibilities, such as schools from primary to university, mosques as well as health and commercial centers, etc., which has led to the dissemination of the Wahhabi thought significantly in Niger”.
“While Shiites are present in some cities and have graduates from the scientific seminary, the lack of reporting capabilities remains a major obstacle to better communicating the voice of the Ahl Al-Bayt”, the report said.
The report pointed out that the needs of the Shia believers in Niger, according to the experience of different religions and sects in spreading their thought in Niger, the establishment of schools, which is the first point of departure in this field, the construction of scientific and cultural centers in Niger has a great role in reaching the goal, the construction of mosques or husayniyat to establish doctrinal activities, the establishment of health centers to help people; which has an effective role in delivering the message of Ahl Al-Bayt in Niger. This activity is noticeable among the Wahhabis, Christians and colonial countries. Preachers should be supported materialistically and morally, by sending them either to holy Najaf or to Holy Qom in order to let them participate in various courses so the knowledge of Ahl Al-Bayt is ingrained in them.
They youth should be allowed to continue seminarian studies to create a generation who can successfully contribute into the society and who can effectively disseminate the culture of the Ahl Al-Bayt – peace be upon them. Furthermore, preachers should also be sent to villages to communicate the knowledge of Ahl Al-Bayt, at least once a month.
