Around 5,000 graduating university students gathered at the shrine of Abu al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon him) in the holy city of Karbala to take their graduation oath, marking the central ceremony for the fifth annual nationwide graduation celebration for Iraqi universities.
Held under the theme “From the Rain of Karbala Springs Generosity,” the event was organized by the al-Abbas Holy Shrine as part of the “Fityan al-Kafeel” national project. Students from 64 universities across Iraq participated in this year’s graduating class, titled “On the Guidance of the Moon – Fifth Cohort.”
In a solemn moment, the students recited an oath pledging ethical and professional commitment to serve their country and humanity. The oath emphasized moral integrity, faith, and dedication to science, including the words: “I swear by Almighty God to remain mindful of Him in my profession, to be an instrument of His mercy, to serve my country, and to make my life a reflection of my faith in both private and public.”
The initiative aims to offer a unique graduation experience that blends academic achievement with spiritual reflection, highlighting the importance of developing graduates who are both knowledgeable and value-driven.
